Planning for a milestone birthday celebrations is so fun when you’ve buckled down on a concept. I’ve been busy with themed party invitations, including my own, especially when I turned 40. Yup, I’m a 1978 baby…go ahead… do the math. I’m cool with it. 🙂

In my observation, a well put together party can jump off from these basics:
Season, Style & Attire
The Season… Consider when the party will be celebrated. You might use this fact alone as your main theme, summer parties are great when planning a luau theme. Fall can inspire a theme filled with pumpkin spice lattes and scones. Your creativity can really take you places.
The Style… Who are you planning for? Show off some style, play with colour choices, surrounded by favourite things.
Imagine the guests, from the moment they receive that invitation, to the time they walk into the room, will it say “This is so You!” The personality of a party comes through with a carefully selected theme, it makes it extra fun when you’ve nailed it.
The Attire… Should guests be dressed to fit the theme? This also helps to determine your budget and scope; a casual party will absolutely be different from a formal one. How about costumes? Should it be a moment in time? Flash back to the past, Rock n’ roll, 70s, Great Gatsby. Can it be focused on a place and the culture, travel or destination?
